Application
The RZS-02A Personnel Contamination Monitor can be used for compulsory radioactive contamination screening of personnel at nuclear enterprises, as well as personnel involved in remediation of contaminated areas and elimination of the consequences of radiation accidents.
Design and operation
RZS-02A is a measuring booth with a panel computer and 25 detecting units in it: 24 detecting units are used to check personnel, and one detecting unit is used to check small items.
The detecting units are based on plastic scintillators of different thickness for separate registration and processing of gamma and beta radiation, separate.
The arrangement of detecting units in RZS-02A provides efficient efficient scanning of the entire surface of the personnel body, including the head, in automatic mode.
Correct placement of a person in the booth during the scanning is ensured by position sensors. In case a person displaces from the correct position, sound and visual signals are generated. The quality of lighting does not affect performance of the position sensors.
When the threshold levels of contamination are exceeded, the entrance and exit gates are blocked, and the monitor produces the corresponding sound and visual alarm signals, displays the contaminated areas on its mnemonic diagram and unlocks the entrance gate.
