Radiation inspection excercises at Kurumoch International Airport

According to the Privolzhsky Customs Directorate, exercises were held at Kurumoch International Airport dedicated to responses to the detection of radiation hazardous objects during customs monitoring.

The exercises included practicing of the actions of customs officers to respond to alarms of the Yantar Radiation Monitors triggered by a person undergoing treatment with radiopharmaceuticals. Such cases require special procedure, and the responding officer shall check the availability of medical documents confirming the treatment and measure the entire surface of the person’s body.
