Intended use

Monitoring of radioactive contamination levels is an integral part of industrial radiation monitoring and serves to prevent the spread of radioactive contamination.
Nuclear facility personnel working in the areas where man-made sources of ionizing radiation are handled are at risk of contamination of their skin, workwear, safety shoes and other personal protective equipment, and, as a consequence, external and internal human exposure. Generally, nuclear facility personnel and objects are inspected for radioactive contamination at the border of controlled and free access zones.

Application

  • As part of radiation monitoring equipment at nuclear power plants, other nuclear cycle facilities, radiological laboratories
  • As part of an automated radiation monitoring system (radiation monitoring subsystem to prevent non-proliferation of radioactive contamination) or in autonomous mode

Functional capabilities

  • Monitoring of contamination of personnel and small objects with gamma, beta, alpha-active nuclides
  • Audible and visual alarm when the threshold contamination levels are exceeded
  • Display of the results of the object contamination measurement on the mnemonic diagram
  • Transmission of measured parameters and data on technical condition of devices to upper levels of the automated radiation monitoring system

Design features

  • Visual and voice support of the measurement procedure
  • Easy decontamination due to stainless steel housing
  • Optional video system to record the person being screened
  • Prevention of unauthorized crossing of the search area

High standard of quality

Our personnel contamination monitors are measuring instruments registered in the State Register of Measuring Instruments. They also comply with the requirements of STO 1.1.1.02.004.1078-2015 “Personnel contamination monitors at nuclear power plants. General technical requirements, types and test methods.“

Certification

Personnel contamination monitors are certified in the System of conformity assessment in the field of atomic energy use, comply with the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union on safety of low voltage equipment (TR CU 004/2011), Technical Regulations of the Customs Union on electromagnetic compatibility of technical means (TR CU 020/2011).
