JSC SPC ASPECT equipment serves to strengthen radiation safety
According to information from the Federal Customs Service of Russia, on March 28, 2023 at Domodedovo Airport, the Yantar radiation monitor helped to intercept a baggage item with radiation level exceeding the permissible limits by 20 times. The subsequent secondary inspection of the baggage revealed that the volcanic sand carried in the baggage of one of the passengers contained thorium-232, a natural radionuclide that belongs to radioactive substances.
