Description
Design
The Yantar-Zh radiation portal monitors consist of metal pillars mounted along the railway tracks. The pillars contain electronics units, gamma and neutron detectors. The monitors are equipped with sound alarming devices.
Lead shields used for gamma detectors serve to enhance gamma detection efficiency.
Occupancy sensors ensure reliable detection of the target object in the search area even in extreme weather conditions.
The Yantar pillars, detectors and electronic units are climatically protected well enough to withstand harsh environments. Optional anti-vandal cages are intended to protect the radiation monitor against mechanical damage.
The radiation monitor transfers data to the control panel or a PC with the application specific software installed.
The recommended speed of the object can be increased by application of customized solutions, including increase of the pillar quantity. The choice of a specific Yantar-Zh model as well as agreement of customized solutions is made in accordance with installation site conditions and customer’s requirements to the minimum detected quantities of radioactive and nuclear materials.
Values in Specification section are valid for the Yantar-1Zh dual-pillar radiation monitor with gamma and neutron channels.
Typical application:
As part of Radiation Monitoring Integrated Systems
